Double Queen rooms offer two queen beds, large flat screen TV (as if you'll be spending time watching TV when there are hedgies to be adored!), coffee makers with Starbucks coffee
Executive Queen Rooms, while not too much larger in actual room size, offer a few more amenities: microwave, Keurig coffee makers with Starbucks coffee, refrigerators, bath robes, and a Concierge Level featuring continental breakfast in the morning and cocktails with hors d’oeuvres in the evening.
Room prices accommodate one to four humans. We have convinced the management to allow 5 hedgies per room. Normally pet limit is 4 per. There will be a one time non-refundable pet fee of $50. Sorry, we really worked hard trying to get this cost waived, reduced or refundable.
As a courtesy to the hotel and convenience to our show attendees, we will provide plastic table covers to cover room floors and disposable (human) incontinence pads for use to line hedgie condos if you need them. The hotel was very impressed with our cleanliness in 2016 and were overjoyed we chose them again for the 2018 show.
Please contact Teresa if you feel you may have need of floor coverings and/or pads to line habitats. We will do our best to have them on hand for everyone needing but a guesstimate will help us better prepare. Thanks.
Did we mention the hotel has a pool, hot tub and exercise room?
Of course for some hedgies, your warm bath could be all those!
As those of you attending our 2016 show found out, the hotel is a large complex encompassing 13 acres, approximately 7 of which are guest rooms, conference and meeting facilities and two on-site restaurants. Rustlers Country Cafe offers full service for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rawhide Sports Bar and Pub - well, self explanatory - with live entertainment on a regular basis.
Then there is Sweet Tooth, a convenient grab and go style on premise shop with Starbucks coffee and comparable fancy drinks, soft drinks, ready made sandwiches, salads, pastries, Colorado Creamery ice creams and more.
There is a large indoor play area for small children, both seasonal outdoor and full time indoor pools, tennis courts, running track, fitness room and more. ...if you can possibly pull yourself away from the hedgies to partake of such amenities.
The RMHS 2018 will be held in a first floor conference room nearly twice the size of our last show. There are restrooms close by and we've asked for as much as possible the room block be located in a nearby wing also on the first floor. There is parking on the north lot close to the conference room (and hopefully many of our sleeping rooms). The hotel has ramps for easy mobility.
There is hotel shuttle service to and from hotel and Colorado Springs Airport. The shuttle is also available on a limited basis for sites within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. Please inquire about airport pick-up at Colorado Springs Airport when you make hotel reservations. Arrangements can be made at the front desk for shuttle service back to the airport or sites near hotel for touring/shopping .
coloradoshuttle.com offers several regular daily trips to and from Denver International Airport (DIA) and Colorado Springs. Check site for times and prices if coming into Denver.
frontrangeshuttle.com is another agency that offers regularly scheduled shuttles to and from DIA and Colorado Springs. For a much heftier fare you can schedule "customized" pickup.... like $200 one way as opposed to regular shuttles at $55.
Pets are welcome on both shuttles but must remain in carriers (which is probably less stressful for the hedgies as well as the humans).
Nearby are approximately 20 restaurants, Target, Walgreens, a Natural Grocer and more. For those arriving early or leaving later, the hotel is nearby Garden of the Gods, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Air Force Academy, Fort Carson, Cog Railroad and Pikes Peak. If you haven't spent all your allowance at our vendors tables and auctions, you can shop in Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs.
